Mihingo Lodge (Luxury )

Located in western Uganda, just outside Lake Mburo National Park, Mihingo Lodge is an excellent value luxury eco-lodge. Situated on 200 acres of private land, on a rocky bluff overlooking the park, the lodge is a rock, found wood and thatch construct. Consisting of a mess room, swimming pool, stables and 10 sleeping rooms, Mihingo Lodge is a beautifully designed - and beautifully run - establishment. Owner built, owner decorated, the main lodge includes a bar, lounge and dining area, and is characterized by steep thatch roofs, low overhangs, open sides, low walls, long, curved stone benches, polished floors, a mix of camping and comfortable seating, reclaimed olive wood tables, bright cushions, puffs and well chosen artifacts. The food is divine, and the feedback regarding service has been unremittingly excellent.
Built on stilts and wooden platforms, in a variety of settings, and protected by thatched roofs, the sleeping tents of Mihingo Lodge include a good sized verandah, a twin or four poster beds, canvas chair seating and a separate bathroom - sink, shower and flush toilet. The decor is restrained and purposely rustic, with an emphasis placed on quality - of sleep, rest and relaxation - as opposed to a mass of artifacts, throws and rugs.
Activities at Mihingo Lodge include horse riding (for which it is well known), game drives, guided walks, bush picnics, boat trips, massage and sundowners. Rwamahungu hill, a peaceful area with great views of the lake and surrounding country.

Rwakobo Rock Lodge-Lake mburo (Mid range)

Rwakobo Rock is a peaceful and secluded retreat where you can breathe in the essence of wild Uganda. The 8 comfortable and spacious cottages are dotted around the hill, all very private and offering great sunset views. The main dining area overlooks an expanse of rock that adjoins the park. Set in the pristine Ankole ranchlands surrounding Lake Mburo National Park; whether you want to sit back, sip on an ice-cold drink in a hammock or head out into Lake Mburo National Park for a day of exciting exploration, there is something for everyone here.
Set on a massive granite outcrop, just beside Lake Mburo National Park, the accommodation at Rwakobo is a variety of thatched cottages, with solar lights, flush toilets, solar heated showers and filtered drinking water, which blend into the natural landscape.  The rooms are dotted around the hill taking advantage of rocky ledges and private corners.
The cottages celebrate the natural lines of the surrounding wilderness. They also provide guests with real comfort and luxury that doesn’t cost the earth.
At the very heart of Rwakobo Rock is the owners’ dedication to supporting the surrounding pristine wilderness of the Lake Mburo ecosystem. With this in mind, environmentally-friendly technologies such as rain water catchment, solar power, solar water heaters and solar refrigeration are all used to ensure responsible tourism.  Charging facilities and slow Wi-Fi are available at the main area.
As the saying goes: “Take nothing but pictures and your memories, leave nothing but footprints and kill nothing but time.”
We also ensure that Rwakobo is safe, hygienic and dedicated to the specific needs of our guests, providing a unique and authentic experience.
