The River nile is 80kms from Kampala. It’s located in Jinja. Lake Victoria is said to be the source of the River Nile and it’s where it starts its journey to North Africa in Egypt. It’s the longest River in Africa. The ancient name of the Nile was Iteru. River Nile is divided into 3 zones. The river is about 6696km long and is shared by 9 countries which include: Uganda as well as Egypt where it’s most centered. Other countries are Sudan, Burundi, Rwanda, Kenya, Tanzania, Zaire and Ethiopia.
Up along the Nile’s course is Lake Kyoga which also feeds the river with fresh water and this leads to Murchison Falls, where roars of millions of litres of water.
